I caved. I am now the owner of a Twitter account. I see this going one of two ways: a) I will become heavily addicted and/or follow ridiculous people or b) I will try to use it, fail to use it and give up in a grump whilst angsting over how technology is foolish and its only purpose is to frustrate me. Stayed tuned for my impending tweet-tweeting to establish which path of decline I inevitably stumble down, or - God help me - Tumblr down. And there are more bad internet related puns where that came from.
